RPI System 40/50
The RPI System 40/50 is a high strength, light weight, low profile, preattached, prerigged personal escape system. The components of the system include a hook, rope, descender and pouch. It is the most versatile firefighter escape system on the market.

Hook
RPI developed a custom hook that is used to anchor the system. The versatility of the high strength hook enables the firefighter to use the tip to anchor in a window, use the carabeener-like part of the hook with a firefighter tool or to anchor to almost any substantial object.

Rope
Forty or fifty feet of light weight rope is preattached to the hook. This flat, light weight rope is made of two components making it extremely strong as well as flame and abrasive resistant. The rope is prepackaged and shrink wrapped to prevent tampering and unraveling. Additionally, the prepackaged rope enables the escape system to be easily inspected and placed back into service with minimal effort.

Descender
The descender allows for rapid movement of the firefighter across a room or out a window. The descender has the ability to lock-off once the firefighter exits a window enabling him to gain control and regulate his descent to safety. RPI has chosen to use a CMC escape artist descender.

Pouch
The low profile pouch is designed to be carried by the firefighter across the lumbar region of the body. This feature of the pouch allows equal distrobution of the system’s weight thus reducing the chance of creating chronic injury to one side of the body.
